he doesn’t live in a country with the world’s second-largest population of muslims. he doesn’t have a mosque with an imam who probably knows a bit about these things in his neighbourhood. he doesn’t have muslims as neighbours, friends, teachers, local shopkeepers, whatever.

you know who does? you do. you know who asks him stupid questions like that? sexagenarian white people who think he is a secret muslim and think that’s a good reason to hate him. did you mean to ask him about the way his administration is carrying forward his predecessor’s ideas about the muslim world and what a threat it may constitute to the omg!west? then really, you should have asked him about that directly.

i know you are young and prone to silly mistakes. i know you belong to a generation from which people brought anti-pakistan banners to a peace vigil after the 2008 attacks. but please grow up fast. as we are to each other, so we are to president obama. i trust you don’t want an india in which man is wolf to man. but please remember that using your time with one of the world’s most powerful men to ask him such a transparently neurotically attention-grabbing question is a symptom of a world in which man is stupid to man. that is not a good environment either.
